Refund Policy
This Refund Policy explains how payments, cancellations and refunds are handled for publishing-services engagements booked through Pages&Prestige.
Effective Date: August 4, 2026 · Last Updated: August 4, 2026
1. Scope of Services
Pages&Prestige (“the Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides professional publishing and author-support services, including but not limited to writing coaching, ghostwriting, manuscript editing, proofreading, book cover design, interior formatting, illustration, eBook and audiobook production, print production, publishing consultation, distribution assistance, Amazon optimization, Amazon marketing setup, website development, video trailers, and related marketing services.
All services are governed by this Refund, Cancellation & Dispute Policy, together with the applicable signed service agreement, approved proposal, invoice, and any written amendments agreed to by both parties.
Because our services involve customized professional labor, creative development, project management, and, where applicable, third-party expenses, payments are not automatically refundable merely because a client changes their mind, becomes dissatisfied with a creative preference, or decides not to proceed with a project.
Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable rights a client may have under applicable law.
2. Deposits, Payments, and Financial Commitments
2.1. Each engagement may require an initial deposit, advance payment, milestone payment, or other payment arrangement specified in the applicable service agreement or proposal.
2.2. Deposits cover the reservation of project resources, administrative preparation, onboarding, scheduling, and other agreed initial activities. To the extent permitted by applicable law and the signed agreement, amounts attributable to work performed, resources committed, and costs incurred are non-refundable.
2.3. Milestone payments become payable according to the payment schedule and project stages specified in the applicable agreement. Clients are responsible for making payments when due, regardless of whether the project has achieved commercial success.
2.4. The Company may suspend work, withhold undelivered materials, or pause further project activities when a payment is overdue, subject to the applicable agreement and law. Any resulting timeline changes will be handled in accordance with the agreement.
2.5. No salesperson, project manager, contractor, or other representative may authorize a refund or alter this policy except through written authorization from an appropriately authorized Company representative.
3. Cancellation Before Work Begins
3.1. A client requesting cancellation before substantive project work begins must submit the request in writing to info@pagesnprestige.com.
3.2. Any eligible refund will be calculated after accounting for services already performed, administrative or processing charges disclosed before payment, and other legitimate costs already incurred or committed on the client’s behalf, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
3.3. A cancellation request does not automatically entitle the client to a full refund. Eligibility and the amount payable will depend on the applicable service agreement, the actual status of the project, and the expenses incurred.
3.4. Any cancellation period expressly stated in the signed service agreement will apply, subject to applicable law. Where no specific cancellation period is stated, the request will be assessed under this policy and the applicable agreement.
4. Cancellation After Work Has Begun
4.1. Once work has commenced, including research, manuscript assessment, writing, editing, design, illustration, formatting, production planning, marketing preparation, or other project-specific activity, the client may not automatically recover payments allocated to completed work.
4.2. Fees attributable to work actually completed, deliverables produced, and authorized third-party expenses incurred will generally be non-refundable, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
4.3. If a client cancels an engagement before completion, the Company will assess any remaining unearned portion of the fees against the work completed, project commitments, applicable cancellation terms, and any outstanding costs.
4.4. Any refund for an incomplete portion of the engagement will be determined in accordance with the signed agreement and applicable law. The Company will not be required to refund amounts properly attributable to services already rendered.
4.5. A client’s decision to discontinue a project, change the book’s subject, alter the original brief, change creative direction, or abandon a publishing plan does not, by itself, establish negligence or create an automatic entitlement to a refund.
5. Refunds Based on Proven Publisher Negligence
5.1. The Company takes its contractual responsibilities seriously. Where a refund is requested on the basis of alleged negligence, the claim must identify the specific contractual obligation or professional responsibility that was allegedly breached and provide reasonable supporting information.
5.2. A refund based on publisher negligence will be considered established where the relevant facts demonstrate a material failure by the Company to perform an agreed obligation, and the failure is acknowledged in writing by the Company, established through an agreed dispute-resolution process, or determined by a competent authority or court, as applicable.
5.3. Where publisher negligence is established and a monetary refund is determined to be due, the approved refund will be processed within forty-five (45) working days after the Company has confirmed the refund amount in writing and received any reasonably necessary information required to process the payment.
5.4. The refund amount will be calculated according to the nature and extent of the established failure, the affected services, the work properly completed, the fees paid, and any applicable contractual or legal requirements. The Company will not use this calculation to exclude a remedy required by law.
5.5. A complaint, allegation, creative disagreement, delay attributable to the client, or dissatisfaction with an outcome does not, by itself, constitute proof of negligence.
5.6. Where a refund is not yet established, the Company may investigate the complaint, review project records, consult the relevant team, and propose reasonable corrective measures before making a determination, without unreasonably delaying any remedy required by law.
6. Alternative Resolution Through Additional Services
6.1. Where appropriate, the Company may propose additional or corrective services as an alternative to some or all of a requested monetary refund. Depending on the project and the client’s needs, these services may include:
- Website design or development.
- Book video trailers.
- Amazon listing optimization.
- Amazon marketing account or campaign setup.
- Additional editing, proofreading, formatting, or design corrections.
- Other mutually agreed publishing or promotional services.
6.2. Any such adjustment must be clearly described in writing, including the scope of the additional services, their agreed value, and whether they are offered instead of or in addition to a monetary refund.
6.3. The value and cost of any additional services accepted as part of a refund adjustment will be deducted from the agreed adjustment or refund amount, as expressly documented in the written settlement or amendment. The calculation must not result in an undisclosed charge or double deduction.
6.4. The Company will not unilaterally substitute additional services for a monetary refund where a monetary refund is required by applicable law or where the parties have not agreed to the substitution.
6.5. Acceptance of an alternative-service arrangement must be documented in writing. The written agreement should specify the services to be delivered, the agreed valuation, the delivery timeline, and the treatment of any remaining refund balance.
6.6. Additional services are not automatically owed merely because a client requests a refund. They may be offered at the Company’s discretion or as part of an agreed resolution.
7. Client Approval of Materials and Subsequent Rejection
7.1. Clients are responsible for reviewing materials submitted for approval, including manuscript drafts, edited chapters, book covers, illustrations, interior layouts, proofs, marketing copy, website designs, and other deliverables.
7.2. Approval may be recorded through email, written messages, signed approval forms, project-management records, or another documented approval method agreed to by the parties.
7.3. Once a client expressly approves a material or project milestone, the Company may reasonably rely on that approval when proceeding to the next stage, commissioning third-party services, preparing final files, or incurring additional project costs.
7.4. A client who subsequently reverses an approval, rejects previously approved materials, or requests a change in creative direction may be responsible for the additional work and costs resulting from that change, where such responsibility is supported by the service agreement and applicable law.
7.5. A reversal of approval does not automatically entitle the client to a refund for work previously performed or approved. Any additional revisions, redesigns, rewrites, or replacement deliverables may be subject to additional fees if they fall outside the agreed scope or included revision allowance.
7.6. Prior approval does not waive a client’s rights concerning concealed defects, material contractual non-performance, fraud, legally required corrections, or other rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
7.7. Where a client knowingly makes a materially false allegation, submits a fraudulent claim, initiates an abusive chargeback, or engages in other conduct that violates applicable law or the signed agreement, the Company reserves the right to pursue appropriate remedies supported by the evidence and applicable law.
7.8. Legal remedies: Where a genuine contractual dispute arises, the Company reserves the right to pursue lawful remedies, including filing a civil lawsuit or other appropriate legal claim before a competent court or authority, seeking recovery of proven losses, and requesting other relief available under applicable law. Any such action will be subject to the relevant legal requirements and procedures. A client will not be subject to legal action merely for making a good-faith complaint or exercising a legally protected right.
8. Revisions and Opportunity to Correct Issues
8.1. The number of included revision rounds, the scope of revisions, and the applicable deadlines are set out in the service agreement or project proposal.
8.2. Before requesting a refund based on dissatisfaction with a deliverable, clients are encouraged to provide clear, specific written feedback and allow the Company a reasonable opportunity to correct issues that fall within the agreed scope.
8.3. The Company may request examples, annotated documents, reference materials, or other reasonable information needed to understand the requested corrections.
8.4. Requests that materially change the original brief, introduce new requirements, or exceed the included revision allowance may be treated as additional work and quoted separately.
8.5. This section does not require a client to exhaust revision rounds before exercising a right to a refund, cancellation, or other remedy that is expressly provided by the service agreement or applicable law.
9. Non-Refundable Third-Party Costs
9.1. To the extent permitted by law and disclosed in the applicable agreement or invoice, expenses incurred or irrevocably committed on the client’s behalf may be non-refundable.
9.2. Such expenses may include:
- ISBN registration and associated publishing fees.
- Stock images, fonts, illustrations, or other licensed assets.
- Printing, manufacturing, or production orders already placed.
- Audiobook production and third-party recording expenses.
- Platform submission or distribution fees.
- Advertising expenditure already incurred.
- External vendor, freelancer, or contractor costs authorized for the project.
- Other project-specific third-party expenses.
9.3. The Company will identify applicable third-party charges in the relevant agreement, invoice, or supporting records where reasonably practicable.
9.4. No charge will be treated as non-refundable solely because the Company labels it so if applicable law requires a different treatment.
10. No Guarantee of Commercial Results
10.1. The Company does not guarantee particular book sales, revenue, bestseller rankings, reviews, audience growth, distribution acceptance, publishing contracts, awards, advertising performance, or other commercial outcomes unless an express written guarantee is included in the signed service agreement.
10.2. Publishing and marketing results may depend on market conditions, audience preferences, platform decisions, competition, advertising budgets, the client’s participation, and other factors outside the Company’s reasonable control.
10.3. Dissatisfaction with commercial performance alone does not establish that the Company was negligent or failed to perform the agreed services.
10.4. This section does not exclude a remedy where the Company has failed to provide a specifically promised service or where a remedy is otherwise required by applicable law.
11. Refund Request Procedure
All refund and cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.
Email: info@pagesnprestige.com
Telephone: +1 (346) 552-7999
Please include:
- Your full name and contact details.
- Your project or invoice reference.
- The services involved.
- The payment amount and approximate payment date.
- The reason for the request.
- Relevant supporting documents, correspondence, approvals, or deliverables.
- The resolution you are requesting.
The Company will review the request against the signed agreement, payment records, project history, approval records, and applicable law. Additional information may be requested where reasonably necessary.
The Company will communicate its determination in writing. If a monetary refund is approved, the applicable amount and processing timeline will be confirmed. Where Section 5 applies, the processing period will be forty-five (45) working days as described in that section.
12. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
12.1. Clients are encouraged to contact the Company directly to resolve billing questions or disputed charges where practicable.
12.2. Where a payment dispute or chargeback is initiated, the Company reserves the right to provide relevant agreements, invoices, approval records, correspondence, delivery records, and other accurate supporting evidence to the payment processor or financial institution.
12.3. The Company may pursue lawful remedies for demonstrably fraudulent or contractually wrongful payment disputes, subject to applicable law.
12.4. Nothing in this section prevents a client from disputing an unauthorized charge or exercising a legitimate right under applicable consumer-protection or payment-services laws.
13. Policy Changes and Governing Documents
13.1. The Company may update this policy from time to time and will revise the “Last Updated” date when changes are published.
13.2. The version applicable to an engagement will be determined by the signed service agreement, the terms incorporated into that agreement, and applicable law. A later website update will not automatically override an existing signed agreement.
13.3. Where this policy conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the mandatory requirement will prevail. Where a signed agreement provides a more specific lawful term for an engagement, that term will apply to the extent stated in the agreement.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
14.1. The governing law and venue for disputes will be those validly specified in the applicable signed service agreement, subject to mandatory legal requirements.
14.2. The parties are encouraged to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith written communication before commencing formal proceedings, where appropriate.
14.3. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may pursue remedies available through an appropriate court, tribunal, or other lawful dispute-resolution process.
14.4. Nothing in this policy removes a client’s statutory rights, restricts access to a competent authority, or prevents either party from seeking relief that cannot lawfully be excluded.
